Nothing compares to goose down!

Down adapts to the body’s temperature so it’s not too hot in the summer, yet will keep you warm in the winter. Good pillows and duvets are an investment and you always get what you pay for.

Buying a Good Duvet

1. The shell should be a high enough thread count to prevent noisy crunching. The softer the shell, the lighter and more breathable the duvet will be.

2. The construction should be baffle box (not channels) to prevent clumping.

3. Choose pure white goose down. The amount of down fill (in ounces) is a personal preference. If you are typically hot when you sleep, choose a light or ultra light weight. If you're usually cold, you may prefer the regular weight. See our Size Chart for more details.

Finding the Right Pillow

One of the key components of a great sleep is the pillow. The best quality pillows are filled with white goose down or a blend of down and feather. All of our pillows are hypo-allergenic so everyone can enjoy them. When choosing a pillow, you'll want to keep the following in mind:

SOFT: A good choice for stomach sleepers. Look for a pure white goose down pillow. (We recommend the Heirloom Pillow.

MEDIUM: Preferred by back sleepers. Choose a pure white goose down pillow with more fill. (We recommend the Au Lit Medium pillow.)

FIRM: Ideal for side sleepers. Look for a feather and down blend. The more feathers, the firmer it will be. (We recommend the Au Lit Firm or the Summit pillow which is extra firm.)

Certifications

Finally, be sure that the products you're purchasing have been approved by the Down Association (in Canada it's DownMark and the label will be sewn into the product.) This ensures that the manufacturer is accurately stating the contents of their products on their labels. Of course, all of our products are certified, so when we say 'pure white goose down', you know that's exactly what you'll be getting.
