We are thrilled to announce the launch of an exclusive 2019 capsule collection with celebrated Toronto designer Suzanne Dimma. This limited-edition capsule embodies Suzanne's unique "Minimalist Boho" style, incorporating pops of colour & inventive texture combinations, and centring around Suzanne's specially selected decorative pieces. "I'm so excited to collaborate with Au Lit on a collection that's as beautiful as it is user-friendly," says Dimma.
The versatile collection consists of classic bedding - duvet covers & sheets in washed linen and crisp cotton - paired with a range of exquisite accents for the bed or sofa. "There are so many options for accessorizing," Dimma explains. "We wanted to spotlight mixed colours and textures - linen, velvet, cotton, embroideries, matelassé - in an unconventional way. We've made it super easy to transform your bed by simply changing up the layers. That's the secret to creating a bed with personality."
The collection eschews traditional "seasonal rules" and highlights, for example, the beauty of linen in winter and rich velvets in summer.
"I wanted the collection to feel easy and liveable. The pre-washed fabrics celebrate no-fuss simplicity. When it comes to bedding, I'm all about ease and comfort. Soft, worry-free, wrinkle-friendly fabrics are a must."
"Our motto is embrace the wrinkles!" adds CEO Joanna Goodman. "The more rumpled and relaxed the bed looks, the happier we are. And it's still stunning!"
The introduction of the "bed scarf" is an exciting new innovation - lighter than a traditional coverlet but more generous in size than a throw.
"The ombré dotted linen bed scarf is the centrepiece of the collection. It adds texture and character at the foot of the bed and works just as well neatly folded or softly draped," says Dimma.
"My signature accessory though is the long lumbar accent pillow that we've created in a variety of colours, ranging from coral velvet backed in natural linen for a romantic feel, to perforated cotton for a quieter, more exotic spin."
