How many items in your home are Made in Canada?
That’s what we wanted to know, so we started counting in our own homes. We were astonished to find that from our furniture to our appliances - and even the contents of our closets and cupboards - we could count on one hand how much of what we own was made here in Canada.
As a proud Canadian company, we decided to put our customers to the same challenge, just in time for Canada Day. We’re not asking anyone to make radical changes. Our goal is simply to encourage Canadians to become more aware and to consider where, in their lives, it is a priority for them to buy Canadian. To get people involved in the discussion, on July 1st, 2012 we’re starting the hashtag: #madeincanada. We hope you’ll help us spread the word and more importantly, we hope it will create conversations on and offline, about Canadian (and North American) buying habits and how they directly affect our economy.
Our linens are custom sewn at the same Atelier we opened in Montreal in 1981. We’re proud to say that our linens are made in Canada by people who truly care, for people who truly care.
Tell us about your buying habits! Do you make it a priority to buy Canadian? Leave us a comment here, on Facebook or tweet at us.
