Perfect Pillow Sizes: Standard, Queen, or King

Confused about which pillow is right for your bed? No need to lose sleep over it (pun intended). When creating your dream bed, it's important to know if you need a Standard, Queen, or King sized pillow. We've created an easy guide for you, designed to take the guesswork out of choosing the right sleeping pillow for your bed and finding the right sized linens.

Standard Size

Standard pillows are the smallest of our sleeping pillows, measuring 20" x 26". Standard pillows are most commonly associated with twin or double beds, and two of them side-by-side fit perfectly on a double bed.

When choosing your pillowcases, don't worry if standard-sized pillowcases are nowhere to be found. Many pillowcases on the market are labelled a general standard/queen size, and designed to fit both options. You'll have a bit of a floppy overhang along the opening of the pillow, but the case itself should be a perfect fit.

Queen Size

Queen pillows are slightly longer than a standard pillow, with a typical measurement of 20" x 30". They're designed so that when side-by-side, they are the perfect width for a queen bed. However, pillows are a completely personal preference, and many of our customers with twin or double beds prefer the extra length of a queen pillow.

When selecting your pillowcases, you'd also be choosing a standard/queen size - and the pillowcase will fit just as nicely, just with a bit of a smaller overhang along the edge.

King Size

King pillows have an extra-long measurement of 20" x 36", and two of them side-by-side are the perfect width for a standard king-sized bed. This being said - so many of our customers find the extra length and weight cumbersome, and prefer to sleep with a smaller queen-sized pillow on their king beds. If this is the case, we recommend using king pillows for decorative purposes, and tucking your queen sleeping pillows at the back of the bed during the day.

Pro tip: King pillows are actually the perfect width to cover a twin bed! Try using a single king pillow on your twin bed for decorative purposes, or to provide extra support alongside your standard pillows.
