In Bed With... Joanna

Welcome back to our "In Bed With..." series, where we take you behind the scenes and into the bedrooms of Au Lit insiders. This week, we have a special treat for you! We're taking a peek into the bedroom of Joanna Goodman, Au Lit's CEO. Join us as we explore Joanna's perfectly polished bedroom and hear about her style.

"I fell in love with this house the moment I saw the principal bedroom. Even empty, the space was magnificent. As soon as I saw the coffered ceiling and Juliette balcony, I knew this was the one. My style is very eclectic - I like to mix antiques with modern elements, which is exactly what I've done in my bedroom. The walls were already painted white when we moved in so I felt like I had a blank canvas. I chose my favourite colour, icy grey-blue for the headboard, bench and detail on the white linens, which makes the room feel calm and serene. And I did white silk drapes that I plan to keep forever. I am a big advocate of choosing a style and palette you love for your principal bedroom, and not worrying about trends."

"I'm not loyal to any one set of sheets. I like them all, but I have two current favourites in the rotation: the 410 Thread Count Percale and 800 Thread Count Percale. I never iron my sheets, but I do take them out of the dryer after about ten or fifteen minutes and hang them to dry on a small rack. My favourite sleeping pillow is the Au Lit Firm - it is my perfect pillow. Not too firm, not too squishy. I also have the Lausanne duvet and it's divine - light, puffy, and sumptuous! I love spending time in my bed. In fact, I spend a lot of my free time cuddled up with a good book and hopefully a kid or two. And/or my husband. And if I'm in my Lusomé jammies, it's a perfect day."

"I have a a lot of favourite things. I can't live without my Rowenta Garment Steamer - it's the only thing I trust to steam out my clothes properly so I don't have to iron in the morning. I also love my art. I've been collecting pieces here and there for many years and I'm obsessed with them. I also adore my Anice Embroidered Shams. They're all white piqué with ice-blue embroidery, made in Italy. I feel like they make the bed pop. Oh, and I love my silk-velvet bench too because at night I toss all the bedding on it, which makes it really easy to remake in the morning. (Notice a theme? It's called laziness. It might look fancy and pristine, but it's truly easy living made possible by some tricks of the trade.) The whole room just makes me happy every time I set foot in it."
