Q&A: How Should I Measure for a Bedskirt?

Au Lit Q&A

Q: Help! I need a new bedskirt, but I'm not sure what size I need. How should I measure?

A: Not to worry - measuring for a bedskirt is an easy and simple task. Using your tape measure, all you'll need to do is measure from the top of the boxspring to the floor. This measurement is called the drop.

Shop bedskirts

Our standard bedskirt that we keep in stock has a drop of 14", regardless of bed size (king, queen, twin, etc.). We've found that this is the perfect length to cover most boxsprings available on the market.

As for styling, that's your personal preference! We love the way it looks when bedskirts "kiss" the floor, rather than pool or hang slightly above the floor.

If you would like something longer or shorter than our standard 14" drop, please specify in the "Special Instructions" box at checkout.

Something to note: Our bedskirts are generously cut, to account for size post-washing. You'll notice that after washing it for the first time, your bedskirt will tend to shrink a small amount.
